Introduction

What is a domain name? It is often an issue that site owners tend to forget from time to time, until it hits them that their website domain was not the best choice. Choosing the right domain name is an important issue for any site, but for websites niche marketing, choosing the right domain name is the most important first step.

Remembering

A domain name is not only a URL in the address bar on the website at the top of your browser, Its your identity. Internet browsers often don't know your company by name or even remember your it, even if it is transparent, but they will always remember your domain name. It is how you and your products or services are promoted within your chosen niche market.

Short Simple and Relevant

There are many examples that can be used here, but the fact is blindingly obvious. If your niche site is about stamp collecting, then your domain name should reflect this. If you choose a domain name for your niche site that has nothing to do with the niche, it would confuse Internet users who land on your niche site, as well as search engine robots. Sometimes site owners will try to be a little too imaginative and bit obscure with their domain names, but shortness, simplicity and relevance are three most important things that should be involved in choosing the perfect domain name.

Increase your budget and get what you want

Indeed, getting a domain name that works in your niche will be a frustrating task, even more so if you are trying to break in to a popular niche marketing category. If it becomes too much, you may need to explore some other options when it comes time to finding a domain name that is most relevant to your niche. If you restrict your budget, your selection will be small. Spend a few extra dollars and you will almost certainly increase your chances of finding a domain that will be most relevant to your chosen niche.
